*What is the purpose of the foundation?
Brightfuture's sole purpose is to support MFBP, the pre-school in Bislig, teaching english to approximately 200 children, preparing them for fast-track in public schools, and better opportunities.

*Why the Philippines?
One of the poorer Southeast Asian countries. While we could have chosen Indonesia, Laos, Cambodia, or Vietnam, one of the directors is Filipino-American.

*Who does this serve?
200 children, foremost. However, MFBP also employs a paid staff of five, thus providing additional jobs in an economically depressed area.

*How much of the donated amount goes to the school?
With the exception of small amounts such of US government fees, all monies donated go directly to the school. All US-based activities are performed by volunteers; the directors donate communication, administration, and travel.

*Are my donations tax-deductible in the USA?
Our 501.3c application has been accepted by the IRS, and is currently being considered. Until we have obtained official recognition, your donations are not tax-deductible in the United States. We shall post notice of approval once it is obtained.

*Does USA staff take compensation?
It does not.

*How old are the kids?
Four, Five, and Six years old. Once they graduate, every year in the middle of March, they enter public school.

*How long is the program?
Three years, with three and a half hours of instruction weekday mornings, and three and a half in the afternoons.
